SOLDIER SUMMIT, Wasatch County — One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash on U.S. 6 Saturday.

A sedan was eastbound on U.S. 6 when it crossed the median and struck a minivan head-on, according to Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Michael Gordon. The driver of the sedan, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries, UHP said.

The driver who was killed was identified by troopers on Monday as Benjamin Campbell, 46, from Price.

The driver of the minivan was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter and a passenger in the minivan was taken to a hospital by ambulance, troopers said. Both suffered serious injuries.

The crash was reported by the Utah Department of Transportation about 11:24 a.m. Saturday. U.S. 6 was closed in both directions at Cedar Haven due to the crash.
