WEST VALLEY CITY — A Sandy man charged with sexually assaulting a woman who he met on a dating app is now accused of sexually abusing a second woman.

Samuel Faber, 42, was charged Thursday in 3rd District Court with three counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.

A woman told police she met Faber on a dating app in June 2022. The woman says she went to Faber's residence to eat, but he tried to turn the discussion sexual and told the woman "that he is a sexual person," according to charging documents.

When Faber tried to get the woman to kiss him, she "reiterated that she was not hooking up and Faber replied they weren't hooking up, they were making out," the charges state.

Faber then grabbed the woman and inappropriately touched her, according to the charges. She was eventually able to break free and leave the home.

In December, Faber was charged in a separate case with three counts of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping, first-degree felonies; two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony; and aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.

In that case, a woman said she met Faber on the Mutual dating app in March 2022. The two went on a date, during which Faber showed her a gun "designed to look like a wallet," and made odd comments such as asking whether her family could find her if he threw her in a ditch without her phone, according to the charges.

The woman was then sexually assaulted at Faber's residence while he again mentioned his gun, the charges state.

When questioned by police, Faber allegedly told detectives that he "likes to push the limit" when making out. A trial in that case is scheduled for August.
