SALT LAKE CITY — The history of Corner Canyon High is replete with plenty of trophies, but none of them have been in the form of a boys tennis title since the school opened in 2013.
Until now.
Alex Fuchs, Aidan Rideout and Cole Jenkins swept first, second and third singles to help the Chargers roll to their first UHSAA boys tennis title in school history.
Corner Canyon piled up 65 points to outdistance second-place American Fork by 25. Farmington, Skyridge and Lone Peak also finished in the top five.
Fuchs, who has committed to Ohio State, held off American Fork's Caden Hasler in the first singles championship, defeating the five-star recruit and BYU signee in a pair of tight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
Rideout added a 6-2, 6-1 win over Bingham's Kingsley Hoang in second singles, and Jenkins completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-5 win over Farmington's Nathaniel Bullard in third singles.
Skyridge's Elijah Cluff and Max Ericksen won in first doubles, and American Fork's Colby Clinger and Adam Clarke won a second singles titles to pace the Cavemen to runner-up status.
