MURRAY — Police were continuing to search for a white male Wednesday after receiving reports of someone carrying something that looked like a stick of dynamite at the Fashion Place TRAX stop, according to the Utah Transit Authority.

UTA police have not verified that the item was dynamite, but a partial view from a station monitoring video shows the person carrying a cylindrical object, according to UTA spokesman Carl Arky.

Police initially believe the individual may have gotten onto a bus and gone to the Murray Central Station, Arky said.

"The individual UTA is seeking is still at large, and UTA detectives are actively searching for him," he said.

UTA previously said someone had been apprehended but later clarified they are still searching and there have been no arrests.

The Fashion Place and Murray Central stations were closed during the search and a tweet from UTA at 9:07 a.m. said passengers should expect significant delays at all stops south of Fashion Place Mall. Trains resumed their typical schedules by 10:31 a.m. although possible residual delays of up to 15 minutes continued.

Arky said Wednesday afternoon that any current delays were not necessarily related to this incident.
