SALT LAKE CITY — A fire damaged three vacant buildings in downtown Salt Lake City on Sunday morning.
Salt Lake Fire Battalion Chief Dan Walker said an ambulance crew drove by the area, saw the fire and called it in around 1:45 a.m.
When the fire department arrived the fire had fully engulfed a building on 740 S. Kilby Court, across the street from the Kilby Court music venue. The two structures on either side of the one on fire became involved in the flames and were also damaged.
Walker said the buildings were empty and no injuries were caused. It took a couple of hours to put the fire out and the extent of the damage is unknown.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
