SOUTH JORDAN — Police are investigating what it is calling a suspicious death after finding a body inside a burned car.

At about 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, emergency crews responded to a vehicle fire in the area of 11700 South Bingham Rim Road in South Jordan, police say.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, the body of a person was discovered, police say.

The investigation is active, police say.

South Jordan police did not release details of the person, or whether the person was found in the driver's seat or in a different place in the vehicle.
