SALT LAKE CITY — Although all of Utah's congressional races have been called, election workers are still tallying votes across the state. Several counties updated their election results again Wednesday evening.

The majority of Utahns are still opposed to a ballot measure that would allow the state Legislature to spend more money during emergency sessions. Nearly 63% of voters voted against Constitutional Amendment A, which would allow lawmakers to spend up to 5% of the state's budget after calling itself into a special session, up from 1% as state law currently allows.

Any ballots postmarked the day before Election Day or turned into drop boxes on Election Day will still be counted, which is why county clerks continue to tabulate votes. The final election results will be certified by county clerks on Nov. 22.

Several races for state House of Representatives remain too close to call on Wednesday.

House District 27 incumbent Clare Collard, D-Magna, slipped even further behind Republican challenger Anthony E. Loubet in the latest count. Loubet, who led by fewer than 100 votes on Tuesday night, now leads Collard by exactly 200 votes.

In House District 26, incumbent Rep. Elizabeth Weight, D-West Valley City, is losing ground against Republican challenger Quinn Kotter. Weight trails Kotter by 259 votes.

In Salt Lake County, Democrat Suzanne Harrison increased her lead over Republican Richard Snelgrove in the race for one of Salt Lake County's at-large council seats. Harrison picked up over 2,100 votes and leads Snelgrove by more than 16,000.

For Salt Lake County clerk, Democrat Lannie Chapman leads Republican Goud Maragani 56% to 44%. Incumbent Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill, a Democrat, leads Republican challenger Danielle Ahn 58% to 42%.
