SALT LAKE CITY — After a 1-4 start to the season, Utah State bounced back with a win at home against Air Force.
The win gave Aggies fans hope that the program has turned a corner and that it's ready for a another run at a Mountain West championship. While that scenario is still far out, Utah State was the only local team to win over the weekend and was the biggest shock, with only 12% of all the picks going for the Aggies.
BYU and Utah both went on the road, only to return home with their second loss of the season. The losses came as a bit of a surprise to the respective fan bases, too. For BYU, 80.2% of its fans had faith the Cougars would leave Las Vegas with a win (64% of all picks had the Cougars winning). For Utah, a whopping 93.8% of its fans saw a victory in the Rose Bowl (77% of all picks had the Utes winning).
In the end, BYU fan Kevin McGee, who had Notre Dame winning, topped the Pick'em leaderboard with 204 points. He was followed by Utah State fans Ethan Talbot (199 points) and Nathan Nelson (198 points) who also went 5-0 this weekend.
Aggies fans topped the leaderboard this week with an average of 17 points scored per game. They were followed by Utah at 15.3 points and BYU fans at 15 points. For the season, BYU fans maintain the lead with an average of 21.9 points, followed in a tie by Utah and Utah State fans with 20.7 points.
This week's first-, second- and third-place winners will get a $100, $70 and $30 Visa gift card, respectively, courtesy of Goldenwest Credit Union. The overall winners of Pick'em will receive a $500 gift card for first place, a $250 gift card for second place and a $100 gift card for third place.
