LAKE POINT, Tooele County — A motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after a crash on Interstate 80 near Lake Point in Tooele County.

The motorcyclist was eastbound at 1:13 p.m. when the motorcycle left the roadway and overturned, according to Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Chris Bishop. The motorcyclist died after the crash.

Strong winds in the area might have played a role in the crash, Bishop said.

After the motorcyclist crashed, a second crash occurred. The occupants of the two vehicles involved received minor injuries.

The motorcyclist's identity has not yet been released.
