LAYTON — A Silver Alert issued for a 56-year-old Layton man last seen Monday morning has been canceled, and he is being reunited with his family, police said.
"We're glad to report that the subject of our Silver Alert, Mr. Travis Hicks, has been found safe in Kansas. He made it there on his own and is being reunited with family," Layton Police tweeted Wednesday.

Travis Hicks had told family members that he was going to a nearby gas station to get a drink around 6 a.m. on Monday, police said.
Hicks' family told police that he has a traumatic brain injury, paranoid schizophrenia, diabetes and depression, and left his home without his medication. While Hicks did take a cell phone with him, police said they located the phone on the side of the road at approximately 1950 E. Highway 193, in Layton.
Hicks was believed to have been in danger, as he did not take required medications with him when he left.
