OGDEN — Police have identified a 10-year-old girl who died Friday at a swimming pool in Ogden.
Grace Grunander, of Pleasant View, was found Friday in the swimming pool at Ogden Golf and Country Club, 4197 S. Washington Blvd., according to South Ogden police.
People at the pool pulled the child out of the water and started performing CPR, South Ogden police say. When an emergency crew arrived at the pool, they continued CPR.
Grace was taken by ambulance from the country club to McKay-Dee Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police say.
"This case is still being investigated as an apparent drowning. Investigators are looking into a possible medical event that may have contributed. The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner's office," police said Monday.
Vocal Motion Show Choir, of Pleasant View, in a Facebook post described Grace as someone who valued friendship.
"She loved her friends and wanted them to know they were her friend," the group said, adding that she also loved making friendship bracelets.
"Her beautiful smile and kind heart will forever be missed!" another friend posted.
"Grace Grunander has graced us with her calm presence as she trained with us at Tip Top. As the oldest sister, Grace was always watching over her younger sibling," said another group, Tip Top Tykes.
