HERRIMAN — A man is in critical condition Thursday after crashing his bicycle in Herriman.
At 10:42 a.m., a passerby discovered the man, 53, lying in the middle of Porter Rockwell Blvd. at 2250 West after an apparent bicycle crash. The man was flown to an area hospital in critical condition, Herriman Police Lt. Cody Stromberg said.
"At this time, we don't yet know if he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run, or if he had a medical episode, or if he just crashed his bicycle," he said.
No one witnessed the crash.
Porter Rockwell Boulevard and southbound Mountain View Corridor closed temporarily at Academy Parkway after the crash.
Correction: A previous headline said the man is 52 years old; police say he is 53.
