SALT LAKE CITY — A woman is in critical condition Thursday after being stabbed, police said.

About 7:30 a.m., someone called police to report an unconscious woman in an alley near 280 E. Hampton Ave, said Salt Lake police detective Michelle Mechling.

The woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries consistent with a stabbing, Mechling said.

Investigators do not yet know who might have been involved in the incident, according to the detective. Anyone with information should call police at 801-799-3000.
