MAGNA — Police have located the 14-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert issued Tuesday morning.

Areli Arroyo Osuna was located in Texas along with 20-year-old David Lopez, Unified police said Tuesday evening. Both are in police custody.

Police say the Amber Alert was issued because they believed Arieli had been abducted by Lopez in Magna. Police had suspected the two were headed to Texas or Mexico.

Unified Police Sgt. Melodie Cutler told KSL on Tuesday that Areli met with a man believed to be Lopez on Monday afternoon. Though it appears the girl willingly entered a car with Lopez, police believe coercion and threats were used to get her into the vehicle.

The girl entered a vehicle with Lopez and two other people before leaving town, Cutler said. She added that Areli and Lopez met on social media a few months ago.
