LOGAN — Police are asking for the public's help locating a man they say assaulted a woman during an attempted kidnapping in Logan on Tuesday morning and then drove off in a gray Honda Civic.

The incident happened just before 8 a.m. near 300 South and 150 West in Logan. Police said they received a call from a witness who reported that a man had tried to kidnap a woman.

The woman, who police say is in her 30s, was "punched in the face after a brief struggle," but received no further physical injuries, according to a news release from the Logan City Police Department.

There were several witnesses to the incident who described the attacker as a man wearing black clothing and a face mask, the release says.

The car he was driving is said to be a 2005 to 2010 gray Honda Civic.

Anyone with information about the incident or who may know the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Logan police at 435-753-7555.
