WOODS CROSS — A man was hit by a semitruck and several other vehicles after running onto the roadway near Woods Cross, Utah Highway Patrol said Sunday.

About 6:42 a.m. a man ran onto northbound I-15 near Woods Cross High School and died from his injuries, UHP said.

There were no abandoned vehicles nearby and it is unknown why the man was on the freeway, the statement added.

I-15 was closed at 2600 South in Davis County following the incident. Utah Department of Transportation advised drivers to use Legacy Parkway as an alternate route as officials investigate. The road has since reopened.

Additional details regarding the crash were not available.
