SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police have identified a man shot and killed in the parking lot of a South Salt Lake strip club over the weekend.
Cherokee Soloman Aiko, 26, of Kearns, was shot twice just after midnight Saturday in the parking lot of Southern X-posure Showclub, 3420 S. State.
Romalice Latrell Williams, 36, was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, two counts of illegal discharge of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a restricted person, marijuana possession, giving a false identity to police and theft by receiving stolen property.
Williams had just committed a robbery at the club prior to the shooting, according to a police booking affidavit.
Saturday afternoon, Williams was located at a temporary winter homeless shelter hotel at 1659 W. North Temple. Police also found drugs and the gun suspected of being used to kill Aiko in Williams' room, the affidavit states. The gun was determined to be stolen out of Eureka, Colorado.
"(Williams) committed an aggravated murder immediately following an aggravated robbery with the use of a firearm in a crowded adult gentlemen's club. (He) is homeless and has ties to Louisiana where he is from. (Williams) has a history of committing aggravated assault offenses," the affidavit says.
