AROUND THE BEEHIVE — The postseason is over, and region championships have been decided.

Now it's time to win, or go home.

The Utah High School Activities Association unveiled the 2021 state football tournament brackets Saturday morning, with a handful of familiar names earning top seeds and even more earning early-round byes based on the association's computer-generated ratings percentage index.

Corner Canyon took the No. 1 seed out of 6A, despite its first loss in nearly four years. The Chargers (9-1) finished tied with Lone Peak (6-2) and Skyridge (9-1) atop Region 4, and all three received byes into the second round — along with Weber, Mountain Ridge, Farmington, Bingham and American Fork.

Region 9 co-champion Springville (8-1) held off Timpview (8-2) the top spot in 5A. The top eight received byes in the first round, from Springville and Timpview to Stansbury, Bountiful, Provo, Spanish Fork, Lehi and Timpanogos.

The only unbeaten team in the Utah's top-three classifications Ridgeline (10-0) dropped to the No. 2 seed in 4A, being edged by South champion Desert Hills. The two schools, as well as Green Canyon, earned first-round byes.

Juab took a 9-1 record that included a 5-0 mark in the 3A South, which was good enough to hand the Wasps the No. 1 overall seed in the 3A tournament. Juan Diego, Grantsville and Morgan also earned a first-round bye.

San Juan (9-1) handed Beaver its first loss in nearly three years, and the Broncos took the top seed in 2A. The Beavers won't open the playoffs empty-handed, though, earning a first-round bye alongside the Broncos, South Summit and Summit Academy.

Duchesne (8-1) clinched the No. 1 overall seed in 1A, which has three first-round byes in Kanab and Enterprise.
