RIVERTON — A no bail arrest warrant was issued Thursday for a man who police say stabbed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend in front of her while proclaiming "now nobody gets what they want."

Ismael Castro, 42, of Riverton, was charged in 3rd District Court with attempted murder, a first-degree felony. A warrant was issued for Castro's arrest; he is believed to have fled to California after the incident.

On April 25, a woman and her boyfriend were at the woman's Riverton residence in her garage working on her car when Castro, her ex-boyfriend, arrived, according to charging documents.

Without any words exchanged or provocation, Castro attempted to punch the boyfriend, the charges state. Following a struggle, the boyfriend put Castro in a headlock, according to the charges.

The boyfriend then released Castro and began gathering his belongings so he could leave, according to the charges. Castro, however, kept acting in an "aggressive manner" and kept placing his hands behind his back, the charges state.

The woman got between her boyfriend and Castro and asked him what he had behind his back.

"Castro then pushed past (the woman), hitting her on the left side, and stabbed (the boyfriend) in the chest with a knife," according to the charges. He then looked at the woman and said, "Now nobody gets what they want" and ran, the charges state.

The boyfriend suffered a collapsed lung and minor cut to his liver, according to the charges.
