MIDVALE — Police have arrested four men who they say raped a 15-year-old girl.

Christian Makoma, 25, Aime Byuma, 33, Patrick Bigirmana, 26, were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Thursday for investigation of rape, while Juvidh Ndabereye, 22, was booked for investigation of object rape.

The investigation began when the alleged victim sent a message to a friend on social media saying "she was being held against her will and she had been raped by multiple males," according to a police booking affidavit.

The friend contacted police who did an emergency ping on the girl's phone and traced it to an apartment complex in Midvale near 7650 South and 900 West. Police arrived and said they found three of the men by the pool. The men were shown a picture of the girl and they told officers she may be inside with their other friend, according to the affidavit.

Officers found the apartment door open and after receiving no answer when they called out, they went inside. In a bedroom, police found Bigirmana and the girl who appeared to be in "an altered mental status," the officers noted in the affidavit, describing her as "lethargic" and appearing to be "intoxicated."

The girl was checked by medical crews and transported to Primary Children's Hospital because of how inebriated she was, according to police. The girl remained in the hospital Friday.

While being transported to the hospital in an ambulance, the girl uttered to an officer, "They raped me. He came into the room and raped me and then another came into the room. I was too weak to fight back. I did not want to fight back because I did not want them to hurt me," the affidavit states.

The girl said the men wanted her to drink something, and after initially telling them no, she drank it out of fear of being hurt, according to the arrest report. She said one of the men then sexually assaulted her, but she was too weak to fight back, police wrote.

All four men were arrested after being questioned by detectives.

Correction: An earlier version incorrectly said Ndabereye was arrested for investigation of rape instead of object rape.
