SALT LAKE CITY — Four people were injured and taken to the hospital after their Southwest flight into Salt Lake City airport experienced turbulence on Friday, said Salt Lake City International Airport officials.

The Southwest flight was traveling from Chicago but where the turbulence occurred during the flight is unclear, said SLC International Airport spokesperson Nancy Volmer.

The Southwest Flight 1753 experienced "moderate turbulence" and the fasten seat belt light was illuminated when it began, said a Southwest Airline spokesperson. The flight had an "uneventful landing" and three flight attendants and a customer were treated for minor injuries, the spokesperson added.

Further information was not released.
