SALT LAKE CITY — Utah's number of COVID-19 cases increased by 169 on Monday, with no new deaths and 3,705 vaccinations reported, according to the Utah Department of Health.
There are now an estimated 5,428 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah.
The rolling seven-day average number of positive cases per day is now at 276, according to the health department. The positive test rate per day for that time period calculated with the "people over people" method is now 7.1%. The positive test rate per day for that time period calculated with the "test over test" method is now 4.7%.
There are currently 153 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Utah, including 56 in intensive care units, state data shows. Just over 73% of all ICU hospital beds are occupied in Utah, including about 77% of ICU beds in the state's 16 referral hospitals. About 51% of Utah's non-ICU hospital beds are now occupied.
A total of 2,738,493 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, up from 2,734,788 Sunday. A total of 1,548,547 Utahns — about 48.3% of the state's total population — have now received at least a first dose of the vaccine, according to the health department. A total of 1,311,098 Utahns, about 40.9% of the population, are now fully vaccinated.
Among Utahns age 12 and older, who are currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, about 59.7% have received at least a first dose and 50.6% are fully vaccinated.
The new numbers indicate a 0.04% increase in positive cases since Sunday. Of the 2,740,602 people tested for COVID-19 in Utah so far, 15% have tested positive for the disease. The number of total tests conducted since the pandemic began in Utah is now at 5,011,051, up 3,325 since Sunday, according to the health department. Of those, a total of 2,102 were tests of people who had not previously been tested for COVID-19.
Monday's totals give Utah 409,727 total confirmed cases, with 17,103 total hospitalizations and 2,323 total deaths from the disease. An estimated 401,976 Utah COVID-19 cases are now considered recovered, according to the health department.
