SALT LAKE CITY — One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of California Avenue and southbound Redwood Road on Thursday, Salt Lake police said.

The driver of the vehicle was ejected in a rollover and died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to Salt Lake police detective Michael Ruff. The vehicle was believed to be stolen and police were following the vehicle when the driver took off, he said.

Salt Lake police warned the public in a tweet saying the intersection of Redwood Road and California Avenue (1300 South) would be closed for some time and to avoid the area.
