Mother and daughter injured in hit-and-run in Sunset, police say

SUNSET — A 45-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter were transported to the hospital after a hit-and-run in a crosswalk near 75 W. 1800 North, police said.

According to Sunset Police Sgt. Brett Jamison, at about 7:30 p.m. a mother and daughter were hit by what a pickup truck.

"A vehicle that was westbound hit both pedestrians and then fled the scene," Jamison said. "From what we can tell it was a Nissan pickup truck."

Jamison said there were no witnesses and dispatch received the call after people noticed the mother and daughter still in the road.

The 45-year-old woman had a significant laceration on her right thigh, according to police. Both the mother and daughter had road rash and were taken to Ogden Regional Hospital.
