CEDAR VALLEY — Authorities have identified a man who died after a four-wheeler crash near Five Mile Pass on Saturday night, Tooele County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

Marcus Ayudan, 35, died in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

Ayudan was camping with his family in the area when he went out on a four-wheeler and did not return to camp, Tooele County Sheriff Paul Wimmer said.

The Department of Public safety searched for him and sent out a helicopter at 1 a.m. Sunday, Wimmer said. Ayudan's body was discovered when the search resumed in daylight near the landfill in the Five Mile Pass area.

Ayudan went over a steep embankment, possibly a wrong turn in the dark, and fell 30 feet, with the four-wheeler likely landing on top of him, Wimmer said. However, the crash is still under investigation.
