GANDY, Millard County — Three people are dead after a crash Friday in Gandy, near the Nevada border, according to the Millard County Sheriff's Office.

According to police, the car had four occupants: two were reported dead on Friday, while a third was critically injured and the fourth was able to seek help after the crash. That person found the home of an off-duty sheriff's deputy, who then went to the scene and called for a medical helicopter, according to Millard County Sheriff's Lt. Rob Clark.

Officials arrived at the scene and found a 42-year-old Hawthorne, Nevada, man and a 45-year-old Salt Lake City woman had already died. A 67-year-old woman was found in extremely critical condition and was being treated in preparation to be airlifted to a hospital, but died before she could be transported.

The crash involved a single car, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation, Clark said.

The victim's names are not being released at this time.
