Range Fire near the mouth of Provo Canyon estimated at 1,600 acres

About 10-15 homes have been evacuated near the mouth of Provo Canyon due to the Range Fire.State and local fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info that the fire is currently estimated at 1,500 acres and will likely take several days to extinguish.Lindon City officials said residents near the wildland-urban interfaces will be able to see the flames throughout the night. Fire crews are monitoring nearby neighborhoods and structures.Provo Canyon remains closed, traffic is being diverted through State route 92.— Jen Riess, KSL.com

Henefer-Echo Wildlife Management Area temporarily closed

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources issued a temporary emergency closure of the Henefer-Echo Wildlife Management Area due to the Fire Canyon Fire, according to DWR Public Information Officer Faith Heaton Jolley.'Several hunters who were on the WMA for the opening day of the general-season rifle deer hunt spotted the wildfire on a ridge between Bald Canyon and Fire Canyon and reported it to officials," read the statement. "Several DWR conservation officers responded to the fire, along with the North Summit County Fire Department, Summit County Sheriff’s Office and several other agencies."The Wildlife Management Area is closed effective immediately, people are asked to stay out of the canyon until the closure has been lifted. The DWR will re-evaluate the closure in 24 hours.The Department of Wildlife Resources helped several hunters out of the area in between the two fires.— Jen Riess, KSL.com

Highway 189 closed, evacuations placed for Range Fire

The #RangeFire is 250 acres. Evacuations have been ordered for Squaw Peak Road south of Provo Canyon & for 5-10 homes at the mouth of Provo Canyon.

Fire Canyon Fire burning 60-plus acres in Summit County

A new fire is burning 60 to 80 acres in Summit County near Henefer, fire officials said Saturday afternoon.The aptly named Fire Canyon Fire is not threatening any structures and its cause is under investigation.

Range Fire growing near Orem

The Range Fire, burning near Provo Canyon in Utah County, is now estimated at between "50 to 100 acres," fire officials said.The fire was first estimated at 15 acres and growing at 1:20 p.m.

Park City, North Summit crews battling new brush fires

The Park City Fire District tweeted Saturday afternoon that it is assisting the North Summit Fire District with two brush fires east of Henefer.No information about the fires' sizes or causes was immediately provided.

Range Fire burning 15-plus acres in Utah County

"Air and ground resources from multiple agencies" are responding Saturday afternoon to a new brush fire on Mount Timpanogos near the Orem Cemetery and Provo Canyon.The Range Fire is located near 1000 E. Cascade Dr., according to the Pleasant Grove City Fire Department. Officials are asking locals to avoid the area and keep drones grounded to assist firefighters.The fire is estimated at 15 acres and growing. Its cause is under investigation, officials said.
