ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Zion National Park officials say a Salt Lake City man died after falling on a hike with friends.
Bonnie Schwartz, chief ranger for the park, says the fall happened around 3 p.m. Friday.
She says the 55-year-old fell from an unnamed canyon off Highway 9, about two miles west of the east entrance of the park.
The man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was hiking with friends and fell 15 to 20 feet, suffering head injuries. His hiking partners and park rangers administered CPR, but were unable to revive him.
