MAMMOTH, Juab County — An estimated 5-acre fire in Mammoth destroyed one home and forced evacuations on Wednesday afternoon, state and federal fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info.

Evacuations were lifted just before 4 p.m.

The fire, dubbed the Mammoth Fire, was burning south of Eureka and fire officials responded about 2 p.m., officials said.

Just before 3:30 p.m., officials said forward progression on the fire had been stopped and containment was expected Wednesday evening.

One primary residence was destroyed in the blaze, officials said.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately released.
