SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Jazz are looking for an original team theme song by a fan for this NBA season.

The "WeMix Mountain Jam" national songwriting contest began Thursday.

WeMix, a user-generated record label for independent artists, was founded by Grammy award-winning artist Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.

In December, Jazz players and Ludacris will choose five finalists, then Jazz fans will vote online to pick the winner.

The person who creates the winning song will receive a $5,000 prize.

The song will premiere when the New Orleans Hornets visit the Jazz on Jan. 7.

Jazz marketing executive Eric Schulz says the contest is a fun and unusual way to find a song people will enjoy hearing at games.
