DUCHESNE — More charges have been filed against a Duchesne County man accused of sexually abusing young girls.
Jacob Douglas Stevenson, 25, of Talmage, was charged March 23 in 8th District Court with sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; and dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony.
In total, Stevenson is now charged in four separate cases with rape and two counts of forcible sodomy, all first-degree felonies; three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; unlawful sexual activity with a minor, and three counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor, all third-degree felonies.
He was charged in three other cases on March 5.
The Duchesne County Sheriff's Office began its investigation into Stevenson in February, according to a search warrant affidavit.
“Four female juveniles were identified and interviewed at the Children’s Justice Center. Each of the female juveniles disclosed that Jake had asked them for nude images of themselves and they each sent them and received images from Jake of his genitals. Each juvenile female stated that Jake friended them on a social networking site, Snapchat, Facebook or Instagram,” the affidavit states.
According to charging documents, the girls were all between the ages of 15 and 18, and the assaults date back to 2017.
In one case, Stevenson was angry that a witness may have seen a 17-year-old girl get into his truck with him, so he forced her to perform a sex act, which the girl did “so she could get away from him, the warrant states.
