WHITEROCKS, Uintah County — An armed woman was taken into custody by 5 p.m. after authorities had advised residents in the Whiterocks area to shelter in place on Wednesday afternoon as officers and agents searched for her.
According to Duchesne police, it was reported shots had been fired in the area. Further details about the incident weren’t immediately available.
Authorities had taken precautions with local schools in the area to ensure children were kept from the area.
Agents and officers with the FBI, Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Ute Tribe Fish and Wildlife Department were all involved in the search.
No injuries were reported in the incident and there was no threat to the community as of 5 p.m.
