WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are searching for a suspect after a man believed to be a victim of homicide was found Saturday in West Valley City.
The body of Jesus Vasquez, 31, was found in the passenger seat of his own pickup truck about 6 a.m. in the parking lot of a meetinghouse for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2835 S. 2855 West.
Vasquez had “suffered multiple injuries consistent with homicidal violence,” West Valley City police said in a statement.
Additional details about his injuries or who might have been responsible were not released.
Police say Vasquez’s truck may have been driven to the parking lot by the suspect in the death. The truck was described as a four-door maroon Nissan Frontier.
Anyone with information about the death — as well as anyone who might have seen someone driving Vasquez’s pickup truck in the area where the body was found — is asked to call police at 801-840-4000.
