SALT LAKE CITY — Forever 21 announced this week which store locations would likely be closing as part of the business’s voluntarily filing for bankruptcy, and three are in Utah, CNBC reported.
Of the six locations in the Beehive State, the Forever 21s at the City Creek Center in Salt Lake City, South Towne Center in Sandy and Tanger Outlets in Park City will be closing their doors unless the company can reach new agreements with landlords, CNBC reported.
According to CNBC, closing stores are expected to shut down by the end of year.
In a letter to customers, Forever 21 officials stressed that the bankruptcy filing in no way meant the company was going out of business.
The letter also assured customers that remaining stores will remain open and “you will not see any changes in our stores.” For example, gift cards will still be accepted and store policies won’t change.
“We are confident this is the right path for the long-term health of our business,” the statement read. “Once we complete a reorganization, Forever 21 will be a stronger, more viable company that is better positioned to prosper for years to come.”
The company listed 178 stores expected to close, CNBC reported. To stay up to date with the status of specific Forever 21 locations, check the company’s map of currently operating stores here.
