SPANISH FORK — A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after police say he fell about 13 feet from a bedroom window on the second floor of his home.

Police received the call about noon Tuesday and responded to the incident, which occurred in the area of 230 South and 750 West, Spanish Fork Police Lt. Brandon Anderson said. The boy had fallen a little more than 13 feet and landed on the concrete below the window, he said.

The boy suffered from severe head injuries and was flown via medical helicopter in critical condition to a hospital, Anderson said.

Further details about how the boy fell are currently under investigation, he said, but noted it appears to be a tragic accident. Anderson added that police found the corner of the window screen the boy fell out of was pushed out, and they suspect he somehow pushed the screen, causing the fall. The window is about 2 feet up from the floor in the room, he said.
