UPDATE: The gunshot wound was not self-inflicted and Eldredge did not live at the address where the shooting occurred, according to Nephi City Police Lt. Jace Peterson. Eldredge was a resident of Levan. NEPHI — A man is dead after he suffered a gunshot wound Friday, according to Nephi police.
Police received a 911 call at about 5:35 p.m. reporting Ricky Eldredge, 21, had suffered a gunshot wound. Nephi police, Juab County deputies and medical crews responded to the call at 880 N. 300 East, Nephi police officer Clint Bowles reported.
Eldridge was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, Bowles said.
Additional details about how the shooting occurred were not immediately released.
Police originally reported the shooting happened Saturday, but later corrected that it occurred Friday. Bowles called the investigation "active and evolving."
