SANDY — Nearly a month after someone shot and killed a Sandy woman and critically injured her husband, police are still looking for the gunman.

On March 12, someone shot Jeffrey Ward Webster, 38, and Maureen Magdelena Fiore-Webster, 36, at their home, 916 E. 11900 South, killing her and critically injuring him.

Officers were initially called to the house "on a 'glass break' burglar alarm," according to a pair of search warrants recently unsealed in 3rd District Court. The first arriving officers found shotgun shells in the backyard and the rear sliding glass door was shattered, the warrants state.

"They could hear a male screaming from inside the residence," one of the warrants notes.

Jeffrey Webster was shot in the thigh, according to the warrants. His wife "suffered a gunshot wound to her side and died while enroute to the hospital."

Webster underwent "multiple surgeries," a warrant states. Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen said he was recently released from the hospital and allowed to return home.

"Detectives ... have served multiple search warrants and have interviewed multiple people, but the suspects in this case still remain unknown," according to the warrant filed last month.

Anyone with information on the case can call police at 801-799-3000.
