SALT LAKE CITY — A woman is in critical condition after she was hit by two vehicles while crossing South Temple in Salt Lake Wednesday morning, officials said.

The woman had just left the Love's Travel Stop gas station and was halfway across the South Temple crosswalk when the light on Redwood Road turned green. She was wearing dark clothing and was hit by a driver who didn't see her, according to Salt Lake police. She bounced off the first car, then was hit by a second car going even faster.

She is in the hospital with critical injuries but is expected to survive.

The crash closed northbound Redwood Road between North Temple and I-80 for over an hour. Redwood Road reopened shortly before 8 a.m., according to the KSL Traffic Center. The northbound Redwood Road ramp to I-80 was also briefly closed.

Police are still investigating the crash.
