SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A campaign for a $33 million bond to fund new exhibits at the Hogle Zoo has raised $641,000.
The money would fund an arctic exhibit and part of an African savanna replica. Most of the money for the campaign came from the zoo, including an $80,000 donation earlier this month.
Renew the Zoo campaign spokeswoman Maura Carabello says the money has been spent on outreach, including television ads and mailers. She says no public money that funds the zoo has been used in the campaign.
A campaign to pass a $19.6 million bond for the Tracy Aviary has raised $24,000.
Both measures are on the Nov. 4 ballot for Salt Lake County voters.
