MILLCREEK — Police identified a 61-year-old man killed in his home Monday, officials said.

Steven Richard Nyce, of Millcreek, was found dead at 1280 E. 3770 South shortly after 2 p.m. Witnesses said a man with bloody hands ran outside yelling that someone was hurt, according to Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray.

The man with blood on his hands, Tyler James Vernon, 37, was not initially compliant with police but was questioned and arrested. Police believe both Vernon and Nyce lived at the residence, but their association was not immediately known.

Vernon has a history of alcohol-related crimes in Utah, according to court records.
