VERNAL — A man who was stabbed in September died Saturday, police said.

Vernal police identified the victim as Cal Dee Reynolds in a Facebook post.

“Our condolences go out to Cal Dee’s family in their time of grief,” the post read.

The stabbing occurred on the morning of Sept. 13 at Reynolds’ home near Ashley Regional Medical Center, 150 W. 100 North. Reynolds was transported to a hospital in Salt Lake City where he later died, officials said.

Two of Reynolds’ family members were also injured during the stabbing, but officials did not release the extent of their injuries.

Vernal police and the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office have identified a suspect in connection with the stabbing, who they say is currently incarcerated.

They expect formal charges to be filed next week.
