PROVO — Police on Wednesday identified a 46-year-old man who died after crashing his self-made go-kart Tuesday night.

Provo police said Chad Norton was transported to Utah Valley Hospital, where he died from injuries suffered in the crash. Records show Norton lived in Provo.

Police said Norton was traveling south at about 9:30 p.m., on 700 West near Meadow Drive, when he went over a speed bump, lost control and was thrown from his vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
