PROVO — Three years ago, 26-year-old Elizabeth Salgado went missing in broad daylight as she walked home from school in Provo — just three weeks after she moved from her home country of Mexico.
On Friday, a man found her skeletal remains on the side of the road in Hobble Creek Canyon when he pulled over to go the bathroom. Her case is now being treated as an active homicide investigation.
For years, the Provo community has aided Salgado's family in the search for the missing woman. Here is Salgado's story, from the beginning:
