NORTH LOGAN — A deck holding dozens of people came crashing down at a home in North Logan late Thursday, firefighters said.
A large group of people — anywhere from 40 to 60 individuals — had gathered for a party on the deck of the home on Camelot Drive when the deck collapsed just after 10 p.m., according to North Logan Fire Chief Jon Keller.
The deck appeared to have splintered, creating sharp edges as the people fell eight feet to the ground. They received cuts and bruises, but there were no obvious broken bones, according to Keller. But, he said, the event was still "pretty traumatic."
Three people were taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Their conditions were not immediately known, officials said. Others may have taken themselves to the hospital to be checked out.
A city building official will likely look into what happened, according to officials.
