HERRIMAN — The hunt for a man police said shot a homeowner and fired at an officer on Saturday is ongoing, a Unified police spokesman said Sunday.
"Us and Salt Lake City (Police Department) are working really hard to find him. We're following up on leads and tips, and hopefully, we'll get him in custody soon," said Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.
Police are seeking 33-year-old Justin Gary Llewelyn of Riverton.
The early morning incident put many Herriman residents on edge after they were told to lock their doors and stay inside their homes. The advisory was lifted Saturday afternoon but residents were urged to continue to secure their homes.

According to Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera, a police officer heading home around 6 a.m. noticed a suspicious person near Monarch Meadows Apartments near 13400 S. 4500 West. The officer was shot at when he made contact with the man.
The officer chased the man on foot but the gunman fled and broke into a unit at the apartment complex. The gunman shot the apartment resident and took his car. The car was later found abandoned.
The homeowner who was shot was transported to a hospital and later released to recover at home.
In a social media post, a family member of shooting victim wrote that the man has "to keep two of the bullets inside of him due to them being too risky to remove. My family is still shaken up about everything that has happened and we are just praying the suspect gets caught soon."
