OGDEN— An Ogden woman who was hit by a bullet while she slept in her bed early Sunday has died of her injures, police confirmed Monday.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of 28th Street shortly after midnight Sunday. Maria Sanchez, 47, was hit by multiple gunshots as she slept.

Sanchez was initially taken to a hospital in critical condition. She died sometime Monday.

Police also reported that they had taken three suspects into custody since the shooting, but provided no details about the arrests. "There are no outstanding suspects or persons of interest," Ogden police wrote in a Facebook post.

Anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or has information about the incident is asked to email investigators at detectives@ogdencity.com, or call Ogden police detective Travis Gerfen at 801-629-8477.
