WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama designated Bears Ears as a national monument and while that in itself created wide-ranging reactions from politicians to conservation activists, an online gaffe from the White House garnered a reaction as well.

The official White House account tweeted an image with the caption: “Bears Ears and Gold Butte National Monuments protect over 1 million acres of sacred sites, spectacular scenery, and important natural and cultural resources in the desert landscapes of southeastern Utah and southern Nevada.”

"Today’s actions will help protect this cultural legacy" —@POTUS on designating two new national monuments: https://t.co/XCam0s1OInpic.twitter.com/OwFVTVSKT6 — The White House (@WhiteHouse) December 28, 2016

The problem? The photo wasn’t of either monument; rather, a popular site in Arches National Park, which is located about 100 miles northeast of Bears Ears.

And some people noticed.
