(KSL News) -- Thousands of artists and art lovers come together this weekend for the Park City Kimball Arts Festival. The show is the longest running art show in the West and has gained quite a following.
Susan Thomas, Kimball Art Center: "It's become the arts festival to be at in the west."
More than 800 artists applied to be in the festival, but organizers could only accept 220. This year's festival features 30 bands and an expanded children's art corner where kids can make their own creations.
"So it's really neat for kids to walk around the art festival with their own little masterpiece in their hands."
The festival attracts more than 40-thousand tourists, most have heard about the festival through word of mouth.
Marilyn Merkle, Visitor from Dallas, Texas: "Our main reason was to escape the heat in Dallas, Texas because it's a 103. And then we knew this was art month and the children like to do a lot of art activities."
The festival runs through tomorrow. There's parking at Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley with shuttle service to Main Street.
