(KSL News) New fire restrictions are in place this morning.

Starting today, no open fires -- including camp fires and charcoal briquettes -- are allowed on Bureau of Land Management lands and state and private lands west of 1-15.

The only exception is on developed recreational sites.

The same restrictions are in place for a small portion of the Canyon Range area located within the Fillmore Ranger District of the Fishlake National Forest.

Smoking is also prohibited in these areas unless you are in an enclosed vehicle or building.

Fireworks and tracer ammunition are also banned on all state, federal and private unincorporated lands.
