LOGAN — Logan police have arrested a Utah State University student suspected of raping three and possibly more women on campus.
Jason Brian Relopez, 27, was booked into the Cache County Jail Tuesday for investigation of seven counts of rape involving three women.
"These assaults were alleged to have taken place at the Sigma Chi fraternity," said Logan Police Capt. Tyson Budge.
The alleged attacks happened earlier this month. Budge said police began their investigation after several women contacted them.
"During the course of the investigation it was learned several other young women had made reports to victim services concerning Mr. Relopez. Two more victims came forward and reported similar events. These events were reported to have occurred between October 2014 and July 2015," Budge said.

Investigators believe there are more victims and are hoping Relopez's arrest will make them feel safe enough now to step forward.
Relopez was a member of Sigma Chi, but was kicked out after the allegations surfaced, police said. Officers were also asked Wednesday to deliver a suspension notice to him from USU. Budge did not know what Relopez was studying or whether he was in a graduate program at age 27, but noted he had a military background with multiple tours of duty.
Relopez remained in jail Wednesday on $140,000 bail.

The arrest comes two months after another USU fraternity suspended a former chapter president accused of sexually abusing a female party-goer.
Ryan Wray, 26, formerly of Pi Kappa Alpha, was charged with forcible sexual abuse, a first-degree felony, after allegedly inappropriately touching a woman passed out at a party.
